Update

I'm so sorry I haven't posted anything in a while, but life happens so fast some times that you just don't realize how long it's been in reality.

Well since I've was here last time, I've been laid off from my job and started my own business on Amazon. I've sent most of you the link to my online store and if you haven't received it, please let me know and I'll send it to you.

The Lord has blessed the situation though in the fact that I've been available to help Amanda with her children when they get sick and I can stay with them. She started a new job in June and it's still very difficult for her to take time off when one of them is sick. They all had the swine flu the second week of her new job (including her)so at least they don't have to get the vaccination.

Lacey is expecting her first child on April 24th. We don't know if it's a boy or girl yet, but they do want to know so they can have things ready. They are NOT sharing names with anyone...sounds like someone else in the family!!!! LOL
I can't say that I blame her after what happened to Amanda. One of her freinds took the name she had picked out for a boy because she shared it with her thinking she wouldn't do that...but as we all know, things like that happen.

Well, I'll post some new pictures soon. Halloween is coming up so I'll get some pictures of the kids up here after Halloween.

Lacey also has a birthday tomorrow (October 25th) but we will be celebrating next Friday night with a bunch of their friends and all of our family.

God bless until next time.

A Day At the Beach!

Last weekend, as part of my Mother's Day celebration (and Amanda's too) we took the kids to the beach. Amanda, Chad, Lacey, Morgan, Logan, Caden and I went to Pass-A-Grill beach in St. Petersburg. It's actually closer for us to go to St. Pete to the beach than to Bradenton Beach. Funny HUH!???

Well, here are some pictures of the kids (all of us) playing at the beach!!
More pictures to come as soon as I can drag them out of Amanda and Lacey.

Mother's Day Weekend

For Mother's Day Amanda, Chad, Lacey, Morgan, Logan, Caden & I went to the beach.

It is a proven fact that Caden loves the beach!! You'll see from the pictures. Phil & Brady were not there because they were playing in a fundraiser golf tournament in Orlando. The timing didn't permit them to participate in the Mother's Day festivities yesterday.

Phil took his mom to lunch on Thursday to celebrate Mother's Day with her since he wasn't going to be able to go to dinner with all of us last night.

So after our trip to the beach, we went back to my house and showered, took a nap and dressed for dinner. I went and picked up Mom (Phil's mom) and we met the kids at Red Lobster in St. Petersburg. They were so great!! We had such a great time with everyone. I took Mom home and spent about an hour visiting with her before going home. Phil and I reached home about the same time.
Today we went to church then Phil took me out to lunch.

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day and a great weekend.

Holcomb Family 100th Year Reunion

On Friday, May 1, 2009 Phil & I celebrated our 33rd Wedding Anniversary as we were driving to Wiggins, Mississippi (which is about 35 miles north of Gulfport, Mississippi on Highway 49). We went to the 100th Year Family Reunion of the Holcomb Family. We are on the Benjamin Charles (Charlies) Holcomb and Elizabeth Hargrove branch of this tree, which is one of 12 children that James Madison Holcomb and Elizabeth Hargrove gave birth too.
There were about 170 in attendance in Wiggins. We had the get together at a state park with a lake and swimming area so the kids had something to do. It was really weird sitting in a room full of people and realizing that you are related to every one of them one way or another. The oldest member there was 92 and the youngest was 2 months old. The family branch with the most in attendance was Gardner with 58 and Charlie's branch had 16 (that's us).
It was really great to get to see cousins that I hadn't seen in quite a while. June McGraw, (Aunt Iris' daughter - Clarissa Swaggart (Aunt Iris' granddaughter) and her family, Letitia Whittington O'Neill and her family of three children and three grandchildren were there a s well.

Sun N Fun Fly-In Lakeland, Florida

Well, I'm here at the Sun N Fun Media Center. I volunteered to come in and credential the media from all over the world (and I mean ALL over the world). We are purched right here near the flight line where the air show takes place so we get to see that when it starts at 3pm.

I'm sad that I don't have any pictures to upload to my blog but you can go to www.sun-n-fun.org and take a look at some of what's going on. It's really exciting to be here. There are tons of people walking around as well. Not sure of the numbers yet, but if what I see is any indication of a good turn out then we definitely have a good turn out!!!

We have credentialed a little over 300 people out of a possible 400 that signed up to attend as media representatives.

I'm babysitting the grandchildren this weekend so I might try to bring them out to see the planes. Logan will love it!! Not sure if Morgan cares one way or the other and I know Caden won't like the noise...so we'll see.

Hope you all have a great weekend. I'll take some pictures of the kids and put them up next week. I'm also planning on attending the 100th year of the Holcomb Family Reunion next weekend, which just happens to be mine & Phil's 33rd wedding anniversary! WOW, where did the time go?

Pictures of Grandchildren

Caden & Logan

Morgan
I love Spring!! With Spring comes the beauty of new flowers in bloom. Of course, with that comes allergies, but some things must be endured to have the beauty!

My three grandchildren are most amazing, sweet, loving and just precious!! I have to post pictures of all three of them here since I haven't put any new ones of Caden up in a long time.

Enjoy!!

Aunt Gwen's 80th Birthday

The first cousins of our family had an 80th Birthday party for Aunt Gwen in Baldwin, Florida on March 21st (which is her actual birth date) as well as a first cousins reunion. We started the first cousins reunion in about 1980 and we invited the aunts, uncles and grandmother to attend as well. We've had one about every 10 years and in the last year we've had two. We hope to make this an annual event.

Dana & Laura (Aunt Gwen's granddaughters) planned the party/reunion. It was great fun and they did a great job!! Two of the first cousins, Ellen and Shirley, flew in from California along with Ellen's daughter, Lisa. The three first cousins that have passed away were missed terribly. Linda, Paul and Gary are those that were missing. Unfortunately Eric Kramer wasn't able to make it as he had to work.

Aren't these eyes gorgeous! Aunt Lacey took this picture! This is the sweetest child and just melts my heart everytime I hear his voice. This is my 3 year old grandson, Logan. I will post pictures of the other two grandchildren in the next few days. Just got to get them to my laptop!!

Weekend Times

I love the weekends!! I have to say that I love my job, but I love weekends better. My back is finally feeling better and I was able to clean my house a little yesterday. I'll be really thrilled when I feel like REALLY cleaning and get my house back into shape. I will have to say that Phil has been fantastic in helping me keep things neat and clean and does the laundry. He has been a great help during the last year!! I fell last January and broke my left arm and impacted my right elbow and I haven't been able to do much of anything around the house since.

Then the Saturday before the Super Bowl I woke up and couldn't walk. I've been going to the chiropractor twice a week for that which was caused by my car accident on December 6th. I've just had a year of issues with my health and I'm ready for it to be over. I've never been a sickly person so this is kind of hard to deal with.

Well, I'm going to take some new pictures of the grandbabies to put up here so you can see how they've grown. The problem is gettin them from the camera to the laptop to the blog :-)

Update on Family!

Well it's been forever since I posted something on here but it takes time and after sitting at a computer all day at work it's not my most desired activity!!! (and I couldn't remember my password either, LOL).

It is hard to believe that the baby I posted about last is now 7 mos old. He's getting so big and now the big brother is very thrilled with him. Logan actually wants to hold him now, especially when he sees his big sister holding the baby. I love how Caden lights up when I walk in the door and he sees me. He starts making those sweet sounds of excitement and just warms my heart. Of course the other two are in competition with that and talking at the same time. I just love it!!! It is so wonderful being a grandmother!!

On the other side of things the grandbabies great-grandmother will be 90 years old in July. She is the only living great grandparent so you know we will be making a big deal out of it. Caden will also be 1 year old the same week so it's going to be a fun, busy time of celebration.

Lacey has started a photography business and is doing a fantastic job!! Her webstite is http://www.allthingsnewphotography.com/ so go take a look at her work. If you want her to do any family pictures, give her a call and set something up. I'm sure she wouldn't mind a little bit of travel on the weekend to do some shoots.

Have a blessed day!!
