A Day At the Beach!

Last weekend, as part of my Mother's Day celebration (and Amanda's too) we took the kids to the beach. Amanda, Chad, Lacey, Morgan, Logan, Caden and I went to Pass-A-Grill beach in St. Petersburg. It's actually closer for us to go to St. Pete to the beach than to Bradenton Beach. Funny HUH!???

Well, here are some pictures of the kids (all of us) playing at the beach!!
More pictures to come as soon as I can drag them out of Amanda and Lacey.

Mother's Day Weekend

For Mother's Day Amanda, Chad, Lacey, Morgan, Logan, Caden & I went to the beach.

It is a proven fact that Caden loves the beach!! You'll see from the pictures. Phil & Brady were not there because they were playing in a fundraiser golf tournament in Orlando. The timing didn't permit them to participate in the Mother's Day festivities yesterday.

Phil took his mom to lunch on Thursday to celebrate Mother's Day with her since he wasn't going to be able to go to dinner with all of us last night.

So after our trip to the beach, we went back to my house and showered, took a nap and dressed for dinner. I went and picked up Mom (Phil's mom) and we met the kids at Red Lobster in St. Petersburg. They were so great!! We had such a great time with everyone. I took Mom home and spent about an hour visiting with her before going home. Phil and I reached home about the same time.
Today we went to church then Phil took me out to lunch.

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day and a great weekend.

Holcomb Family 100th Year Reunion

On Friday, May 1, 2009 Phil & I celebrated our 33rd Wedding Anniversary as we were driving to Wiggins, Mississippi (which is about 35 miles north of Gulfport, Mississippi on Highway 49). We went to the 100th Year Family Reunion of the Holcomb Family. We are on the Benjamin Charles (Charlies) Holcomb and Elizabeth Hargrove branch of this tree, which is one of 12 children that James Madison Holcomb and Elizabeth Hargrove gave birth too.
There were about 170 in attendance in Wiggins. We had the get together at a state park with a lake and swimming area so the kids had something to do. It was really weird sitting in a room full of people and realizing that you are related to every one of them one way or another. The oldest member there was 92 and the youngest was 2 months old. The family branch with the most in attendance was Gardner with 58 and Charlie's branch had 16 (that's us).
It was really great to get to see cousins that I hadn't seen in quite a while. June McGraw, (Aunt Iris' daughter - Clarissa Swaggart (Aunt Iris' granddaughter) and her family, Letitia Whittington O'Neill and her family of three children and three grandchildren were there a s well.
